It's hard to ignore 300 emails I suppose...
Tim Radcliffe meeting went well, here's what's next...
Now some might think sending an email won’t achieve much, but when over 300 people all email the same person demanding the same thing, it’s hard to ignore!
🎉Earlier this week, the team at Plants First Healthcare had a meeting with Tim Radcliffe (NHS Net Zero Food Programme Manager), and thanks in part to all of your help, the meeting went well! Once the initial irritation of 300+ emails landing in his inbox had passed, we are told the meeting progressed well, common ground was found, and he has agreed to regular meetings on an ongoing basis - a huge win!! So thank you to everyone who emailed - your support is absolutely key.
➡️ The next person to email is Amanda Pritchard, the CEO of NHS England. We are told that she hasn’t agreed to a meeting yet, but when her inbox starts filling up, she almost certainly will. So please take 10 seconds to fill in this email template and add your voice to the thousands of health professionals already behind this campaign. (We promise, this is the last email request related to this campaign…!)

♻️ In other good news…
Some fantastic news, from the top down! Turns out the tide may finally be turning on the single-use, disposable culture that pervades the NHS - wasting money, carbon and materials, all while ruining the environment. This new report from DHSC is summarised in this article - but in a nutshell, the dawgs up top in Westminster finally realised that throwing away literally everything is a bit of a waste, and they plan to finally do something about it as part of the journey to Net Zero! About time! If you’d like to learn more about the need to balance the infection risk of reusables with environmental risks of single-use, check out episode 7 of the Eco Medics podcast which does a deep dive into this very topic!
That’s all for now. If you read this far, congrats! Don’t forget to email Amanda Pritchard though - click here!
👋 Until next time - ciao for now!
Lots of love,
